Our Mission

The Chartercare Foundation’s mission is to serve as a community resource for accessible, affordable and responsive health care and related services – including disease prevention, medical education, scholarships, clinics and related activities – to benefit the greater Rhode Island community. 

Our Community

---

We have provided funds for non-English speaking populations, with limited access to healthcare; oral health opportunities for the disadvantaged and the homeless, mental health services for children and teens, and nutrition education and safety programs for seniors, among other services. 

​Grants are awarded to Rhode Island 501(c)3 organizations focusing on health and wellness for RI residents. We encourage agencies to collaborate with other nonprofits in meeting their goals; we prefer not to fund salary and benefits as budget relief. We look for broad geographic representation as well as total number of clients served.
